The Leinster Topper Championship was held this weekend 17th/18th June in Courtrown Hbr. Courtown Sailing Club were the host club with sailors travelling from Antrim, Down, Fermanagh, Limerick, Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford. Saturday was a beautiful day with a strong sea breeze force 3-4, which certainly proved challenging for the lighter sailors. There were 4 races on the first day, after which local sailor Simon Doran from Courtown SC was lying 2nd to Conor Simms, Ballyholme YC. There were two races on day 2 in windy but less pleasant conditions. Maria Dolan from Blessington Sailing Club and Simon Doran CSC were the respective winners of these two races. The Officer of the day was Michael Doyle from Wexford Harbour Boat and Tennis Club.

The event was a great success for Courtown Sailing Club, with a social programme,which included a meal, bowling and golf in the Pirates Cove. At the prize giving on Sunday Paul Doran(organising committee) thanked the race officer, sponsors and all the members of Courtown SC who helped out with the event.
