About Dinghy Sailing
Dinghy Sailing started in Courtown in the early '90's with
committed club members training our young sailors off the beach at weekends.
In 1994 we ran our first ISA Junior Sailing Course - who will ever forget
that swim test off the beach!
In the year 2000, 71 young sailors were on ISA Junior Courses Levels 1
- 5 generating our first Club Instructors.
Courtown Sailing Club is now an ISA Recognised Teaching Establishment
for club members offering junior sailing courses and powerboat courses.
From the early years with just a few mirrors we now have 68 dinghies registered
for club racing and more on the way. The sailing skills of our dinghy
sailors leaves Courtown as a club to be reckoned with!
