Two work parties were organised in February to do the maintenance on the moorings in the harbour.
We were very lucky and had a good turnout again this year – despite the freezing conditions.
Nearly all the moorings are now ready for occupation except for a few which were beyond our reach. The diver will be coming down next month to tackle these for us.We also tried a new system for dredging – a suction pump which seems to have worked quite well (fingers crossed!!) and we hope it will solve our problems both in the inner harbour and at the harbour entrance. We had enough success with the trial to take it a step further. If this system works we will need to source some kind of a barge to float the suction system on for the inner harbour – so if anyone has any suggestions they would be very welcome!
Thanks very much to all who came to help – you know who you are!!
And to the “Dinner Lady” who sorted the food - thanks Ash!
